Wonderfest 2023 is nearly here – and this time, it’s a two-date, two-location extravaganza!

Wonderfest is Platfform’s annual festival for young people aged 13+, parents and professionals working with young people to support their wellbeing. There is a jam-packed schedule of events and workshops planned.

Wonderfest Swansea is on Sunday 21 May, 11am-4pm and will include a treasure trove of activities and workshops for young people to dive into – everything from making gratitude jars to meeting alpacas! The workshops are focused on mental health and wellbeing, with useful tips and insights into managing wellbeing during difficult or stressful times.

Our team from Platfform Wellbeing will be there too to show students, parents and professionals all the educational training we have to offer as part of our Education Wellbeing services so do stop by our stand for a chat!

Wonderfest Cardiff is on Sunday 11 June at Glamorgan Cricket Ground in Sophia Gardens and Platfform Wellbeing will be there too.

The day is made up of panel discussions, activities, workshops, and performances.  The Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Rocio Cifuentes, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, Derek Walker, and Lynne Neagle MS, Deputy Minister for Mental Health will all be attending.  Our panels, made up of young people and special guests, will discuss topics such as social change, youth voice, and creativity, and young people will be able to have their questions answered during Q+A sessions.

There will be a range of workshops, including transgender history, writing for wellbeing, and starting a podcast.  Excitingly, the Power Up Project team will be sharing the findings from their development year and we’ll be hearing from young people on the project about their hopes for the future of young people’s wellbeing.

Other activities include DJ-ing and virtual reality with Cardiff Youth Service, mindfulness with iBme plus performances by young people including poetry and spoken word. There will be a theatre performance from young people involved in our collaboration with theatre company thisPlace, and an exclusive set from young musician Ben Ellis.
